The Portland Trail Blazers buried their front axle in another giant pothole on Friday night, falling to the Dallas Mavericks 139-103. It was the second straight blowout in a row to the same squad.

After the game, Blazers point guard Scoot Henderson met with media members in the locker room for a postgame interview. You can see the interview in its entirety here, or via the embed below. Following are key excerpts from the session.

On his team’s effort over the last week or so:

We’re not starting as we want to, but I think that just happens. I think ways we could kind of pick it up is our effort. We’ve got to out out there like we care. We’ve got to get made when the other team scores. It’s as simple as that.

On where Portland’s aggressive approach went:

Honestly, I don’t know. I’m going to continue to try to show that. I’m going to continue to try to get everybody on the same page, back on that. But I think it’s just a mentality.

On his own improving play and bouncing back:

I just try to continue to be me. Try to get everybody else involved. Like I said earlier in the season, letting everybody touch the rock. Whether it’s just a regular kick-out pass, whether it’s a pass for no reason sometimes, to make sure you feel it, swing it the other way. I think I’m just really good at that.

On his struggles and how Coach Chauncey Billups helps him deal with them:

Just about the early struggles I had in the season. Nobody really cares. It doesn’t matter... I think that was his biggest message to me... I just continue to go back to the gym, continue to get some fine tuning in, and just keep up with it...

[Having Billups as a coach] is a blessing, honestly.I don’t think too many people would understand, other than him, and players that’s been in the same position. It just helps me with my confidence. He just makes it easier.

Henderson also talked about playing Dallas without star Luka Doncic. having fun on the court, and the things his team needs to do in order to improve their play on this road trip.
