Archie Goodwin Waived

Pick Archie up ASAP

Legion Hoops ‏@LegionHoops 1m1 minute ago The Suns are releasing guard Archie Goodwin.

"While the competition at shooting guard isn't what it once was, coming in at No. 3 is quite the accomplishment for McCollum, who really only has one full year of NBA basketball under his belt thanks to his first two seasons being stunted by injuries." -- Casey Holdahl

Rosen: Damian Lillard shows off dynamic offensive game in win over Wizards

Let us count the ways in which Lillard is able to score points by the dozens: [...] He can make major adjustments to his release point even while he’s elevating, making his jumpers virtually unblockable — except from behind. [...] His hang-time is reminiscent of His Airness (!), and allows Lillard to move into open spaces to find shots. Hence his ability to routinely make circus shots. [...] If he’s not a legitimate All-Star, then the rules for inclusion in the NBA’s showcase game must be revised.

Bill Simmons proposes McCollum for Love swap

"I've already come up with a trade: Love for CJ McCollum, straight up. You laugh, but it's a great trade! The Cavs save $18m and Portland has $20m in cap space...McCollum and Damian Lillard, where am I going with that? And if you're Portland, you have to think about it." What say you, Rip City?

putting on my gm hat for a minute

you can quote me on this. "it might be time to tank. We are In range of a decent shot at simmons. Yes i like this team, but do i feel that guys can grow and the team can turn the corner and become an elite team... No. I do believe if we could pick up okafor with out losing cj or lillard we would be real good, or if we could pick up an elite 3rd scoring deep 3 option like a thompson we would be very explosive and unpredictable and unstoppable on most nights. not alot of those guys available. We are in range of a number one pick and cant really afford to not try. given recent history, if a player like meyers wants to play games and hold out he should be on the block. yes i think he will improve but i dont want to risk letting assets walk away for nothing again. we should have a starting lineup of lillard, cj, wiggins, towns or okafor, plus a bunch of other assets. noone should be untouchable at this moment. We could begin by giving all 15 guys minutes and rest and evaluate the rookies to see if they may be part of our future plans or if they will be cut to make room for simmions. i wouldnt be opposed to trading preferably everyone besides lillard and cj and an unprotected first for okafor. id bet the 76ers are still addicted to picks. despite and image coaching moves".

300 lvl general.

Why is Ed Davis not starting?

Larry Sanders suspended for at least 10 games for drug violation

The NBA announced today that Larry Sanders of the Milwaukee Bucks has been suspended without pay for a minimum of ten games for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program. Sanders' suspension will begin on Monday, Jan. 19, when the Bucks host the Toronto Raptors, and will continue until he is in full compliance with his treatment program.

Freeland out a little longer than expected

Saturday's game at Memphis marks the two week point since Blazers center Joel Freeland strained his right shoulder against the Atlanta Hawks. After Freeland initially hurt his shoulder, the Blazers said he would be reevaluated after two weeks, but Freeland suggested today he'll be out a little longer. "I think it'll be a little bit later," Freeland said when asked if he would make his return exactly two weeks after straining his shoulder. "I don't know how much later just based on how quickly I get better, really. Like I say, day by day it's getting better, but I still don't have the full range of motion. Still have quite a lot of pain so I'm just waiting."

Sam Amico: Cavs sniffing around both Lopez brothers

League sources say the Cavs have an interest in both Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez (clearly on the market) and Portland Trail Blazers center Robin Lopez (Brook's twin brother). But salaries would make any sort of move involving the Cavs and either Lopez brother unlikely.
