A former member of the Portland Trail Blazers has a new home in the NBA, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Free agent G Skylar Mays has agreed on a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN. He’s spent parts of the past four seasons with Portland and Atlanta. He gives the Lakers some point guard depth.

The Trail Blazers had converted Skylar Mays from a two-way contract to a standard contract in November when the team’s guard depth was tanked by injuries to Anfernee Simons, Scoot Henderson and Malcolm Brogdon.

The 26-year-old guard turned in solid play when he saw the floor. In 21 appearances this season, including five starts, Mays averaged 6.3 points, 3.6 assists and 1.8 rebounds. Mays first joined the team last March on a 10-day contract, appearing in Portland’s final six games of the 2022-23 season.
