Blazers Booted off of TNT in February

Portland-Miami will no longer be nationally televised.

Plenty of Portland Trail Blazers fans will be in attendance at the Moda Center on February 27th to see the Blazers square off against the Miami Heat. The crew from TNT will no longer be among them, however. The national network has opted out of covering the game. That’s no surprise, since it was (almost certainly) originally included when former Blazers guard Damian Lillard was presumed to be on his way to Miami. When the Blazers traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks instead, the Miami matchup lost luster.

The Bucks-Blazers game on Wednesday, January 31st will be broadcast on ESPN. That will mark Lillard’s first time back in Portland since the trade.

h/t to local media member Sean Highkin for noticing the change.

The Blazers-Heat game on February 27 just got flexed off TNT. Not surprising given that the reason it was on TNT in the first place was something that didn’t come to fruition.

The Blazers-Heat tilt will still be broadcast on Root Sports and Root Sports Plus locally.
