Scoot Henderson’s recent ascent is being recognized across the league.

The Portland Trail Blazers rookie was among the nominees for Western Conference Player of the Week.

The honor was ultimately given to Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who averaged 33.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game as his team went 4-0.

Other nominees alongside Henderson were Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers), Luka Dončić (Dallas Mavericks), De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis (Sacramento Kings).

Henderson has scored in double figures in each of his last five games, and even racked up a double-double in two of those contests. For the season, he is averaging 12.8 points and 4.8 assists per game.

As Henderson continues to get more looks and his role increases for the Blazers, the No. 3 overall pick is beginning to show people why he was one of the league’s top prospects coming into the draft.
