Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe is receiving recognition from the NBA.

Sharpe was nominated for the Western Conference Player of the Week award, but he ultimately lost to De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings.

Sharpe is nominated after the Blazers had a 2-1 record this week with wins over the Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers. In the three games this week Sharpe averaged 21.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, including his first career double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds in the win over the Cavaliers.

Sharpe is just the second Blazer to be nominated for Player of the Week this season. Jerami Grant was nominated three times in four weeks during November due to his strong play.

The other nominees for the Western Conference were Anthony Davis, Luka Doncic, Rudy Gobert, Karl Anthony-Towns and Nikola Jokić. The other nominees for the Eastern Conference were Giannis Antetokounmpo, Patrick Beverley, Mikal Bridges, Donovan Mitchell, Franz Wagner and Coby White.
