Merry Christmas, Blazer’s Edge Readers! All day long we’ve been asking you to reflect on various aspects of the Portland Trail Blazers: joys and disappointments, gifts and experiences. You can scroll back through the site and read them if you want, but in this final discussion question for the day, we want to ask a forward-looking question. Let’s lift our eyes to the future and share with each other now:
How long do you think it will take the Blazers to get good again?
Let’s assume that “good” doesn’t necessarily mean winning a championship. Titles are rare and take too many twists of good fortune to predict accurately. Instead let’s define “good” as “showing up decently in the playoffs and maybe getting people to think about contending again”.
Portland’s 7-21 record indicates they’re nowhere near that point now. How many years do you think it’ll be and what factors are leading you to that prediction?
Share your thoughts in the comment section below. Check back throughout the day for more topics of discussion, and happy holidays to all who wish them! And don’t forget to help us send kids in need to see the Blazers play in March. It’s easy! Find out how here!
