Transcript: Blazers’ Scoot Henderson Talks After Loss vs. Jazz

Scoot Henderson spoke with Blazers media members after the team’s game against the Jazz.

NBA: Utah Jazz at Portland Trail Blazers Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson recorded a career-high 23 points and 10 assists for his first ever double-double in the team’s loss on Thursday night to the Utah Jazz.

Henderson spoke with the media in the locker room after the game.

Scoot it was your first career double-double tonight. Obviously, you would have liked to come with a different result, but how did it feel out there?

It felt good I guess. Still lost. That’s what we trying to do, we’re trying to win games, but it felt good to be out there and just comfortable I guess. But other than that, still lost.

You’ve said before that you’re out here to win, stats don’t matter that much, but do you feel like you’re having a little bit of a breakthrough?

Not really a breakthrough. I’m just getting more comfortable just seeing the ball go in more. That’s about it. Obviously still confident, just still trying to be O.D.D. in my own way. I’m just trying to figure out ways to help Ant [Simons] when he’s when he’s getting you know box-and-one like that and then we’re trying to figure out ways to score while all the attention is on Ant, but we’re going to get to it.

You guys been playing well lately even though if you haven’t getting win tonight not really the case can I do can you attribute that to anything or notice anything?

Well I think tonight was just one of those nights honestly. As a team everybody knows we didn’t play as well as we played the last 10 plus games or whatever. Not even offensive-wise you know we got the shots we wanted, just defense-wise our effort wasn’t there. We didn’t have any fight at some points in the game and we’re trying to pick each other up, but it was just one of them nights I guess. And you know Utah they did a good job of just hitting shots.
