A former member of the Portland Trail Blazers could be making his return from injury in the coming days, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

McCollum has been out since Nov. 4 with a collapsed lung, but the former Blazers guard could be making his return to action on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers or Friday against the San Antonio Spurs.

McCollum, who is now a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, experienced a collapsed right lung in 2021 while he was a member of the Trail Blazers.

An article by Bleacher Report describing the 2021 injury can be read here.

If McCollum does return this week, he will have been sidelined for a little less than a month. That recovery time is about two weeks less than what he dealt with back in 2021, when he was out for about six weeks.

McCollum and the Pelicans don’t play the Blazers until Feb. 10.
