The Rip City Remix have acquired former Portland Trail Blazers forward Maurice Harkless, Portland’s G League affiliate announced on social media.

Earlier on Sunday, NBA reporter Keith Smith had reported Harkless signed with the G League, making him a part of the available player pool. Within hours, the Remix picked up the familiar player.

Harkless, still only 30, last played NBA minutes in the 2021-22 season as a member of the Sacramento Kings. In 47 games that season, including 24 starts, Harkless averaged 4.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in 18.4 minutes per game. He was then traded three times in the 2022 offseason before being waived by the Houston Rockets.

Portland fans, of course, best remember Harkless as a member of the Trail Blazers from 2015 to 2019. Harkless spent four seasons with the franchise during the heart of the Damian Lillard era, spending three of those seasons as the team’s primary starting small forward. In 274 regular season appearances with Portland, Harkless averaged 7.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game, while shooting 33.3% on 3s.

Harkless also appeared in 33 games during four playoff runs with the Trail Blazers, playing a role in the team’s 2019 Western Conference Finals berth.

The Remix play their next game on Friday, Dec. 1 on the road against the Santa Cruz Warriors. The next Remix home game is scheduled for Dec. 7 against the Stockton Kings.

Welcome back to Portland, Moe!
