DraftKings NBA Opening Night Odds Abound

The 2022-23 NBA Season starts on Tuesday with a pair of marquee games: the Philadelphia 76’ers vs the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers vs the World Champion Golden State Warriors. The Portland Trail Blazers, along with the other 26 NBA franchises, have to wait another day to start, but SBNation’s official sportsbook partner DraftKings has plenty of action available on the opening pair of games.

Nobody says you have to be the betting type, of course, but if you are and you just can’t wait for the Blazers to get into the fray, DraftKings has you covered. They have odds on the games, players, and other props.

No doubt many of you have the games clocked already, but the individual player props are interesting to me, personally. They have a tab for who will score the first basket in each game. If you think Russell Westbrook will duck and chuck after the opening tip, you can make a buck or two. The odds have Russ as only the 7th most likely player to hit the opening basket, with odds of +950, right next to teammate Patrick Beverley at +1000. You can also get positive odds on LeBron James tallying a double-double, even more on him notching a triple-double on opening night. Over-Unders on individual points, rebounds, assists, and other categories abound.

Game predictions are always dicey, in my opinion. Too many factors come into play. But some of those individual props look like they have wiggle room aplenty.
