Disgruntled point guard Ben Simmons has made it clear that he has no interest in returning to the Philadelphia 76ers.

More information has now emerged thanks to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor who says Simmons and his manager Rich Paul are eager to get him to a situation that places the Australian as the centerpiece of an offense.

League sources say the primary motivation for Klutch Sports’ aggressive holdout is to steer him to a team built around him on offense. No matter the roster makeup in Philly, he will only ever be no. 2 as long as Embiid is healthy.

O’Connor also discusses the meeting involving Simmons, Paul and 76ers representatives Coach Doc Rivers, executives Daryl Morey and Elton Brand and owner Josh Harris. The Ringer Insider suggests that while both sides met, Simmons was not clear about his reasons for wanting a new start.
