The first week of NBA Free Agency, 2021 is winding down. Most of the big noise is over, but some NBA names you’d recognize remain unsigned. We’ll use this thread to bring you updates as news breaks over the weekend.
Late Thursday night, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Kelly Oubre, recently with the Golden State Warriors, has agreed to a two-year, $26 million deal with the Charlotte Hornets. The six-year veteran has bounced around since being selected 15th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. He’s played with the Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns as well as the Warriors. Last year he averaged 15.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in Golden State, shooting 43.9% from the field. His three-point percentage of 31.6% was a disappointment after it had risen above 35% the year prior, his final in Phoenix. $13 million per year marks a modest decrease from his previous salary, but it’s still a reasonable price for a scoring small forward.
We’ll share other free agency news as it comes.
