After a two-year saga, Carmelo Anthony’s run with the Portland Trail Blazers has come to a close. This morning, he took to Twitter to pen a farewell and thank you to the Blazers faithful.
Thank you Portland, for letting me love the game of basketball again. Thank you for welcoming me into your community, and supporting me both on the court and in your city. These two years were some of the most important ones of my career, and for that I’ll always be grateful. pic.twitter.com/GBoVA52Tnm

Anthony’s reign with the Trail Blazers ended with averages of 14.3 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, 42.5 percent from the field, 39.9 percent from 3-point range, 86.7 percent from the free throw line, and back-to-back appearances in the NBA Playoffs.
His numbers in the postseason — 13.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 41-39-88 percentage splits — read similarly. Anthony leaves behind a legacy of big shots in high-magnitude situations, as well as being a reliable source of three-level offense during his Trail Blazers tenure.
The 10-time All-Star prepares to pivot into the next phase of his career, joining LeBron James and a star-studded Los Angeles Lakers group in pursuit of an elusive NBA championship for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
