The Trail Blazers were active in trade talks last week, a pursuit that ended with the acquisition of Larry Nance Jr. in a three-team deal. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Blazers also inquired about Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks in the lead up to the trade that landed Nance Jr.
On Monday, Charania revealed that the Blazers expressed interest in the former Ducks standout.
Before acquiring Nance, the Trail Blazers also had an interest in Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks, sources said.
Last season, Brooks was featured as a starter in 67 regular season games. In those outings, he averaged 17.2 points and 2.3 assists per game.
Outside of Brooks, Charania also revisited the Sixers’ rumored interest in Damian Lillard. According tot Charania, the Sixers are caught in a holding pattern with Ben Simmons.
Philadelphia has its eyes set on Portland All-NBA guard Damian Lillard, sources say, but the Trail Blazers have fully focused on continuing to build around Lillard. As of now, Lillard is continuing to evaluate the Trail Blazers’ present and future and is slated to begin training camp with the organization. In some ways, the 76ers are stuck between deciding whether to make a move now with Simmons — or waiting until a star like Lillard shakes free.
