The NBA’s 2021-22 regular season is coming into focus. The Trail Blazers were not included in the opening night schedule and they were omitted from the Christmas Day festivities. According to The Athletic’s Jason Jones, the Kings and Blazers will face each other to open the 2021-22 season.

The 2021-22 schedule gets underway on October 19. The Blazers were not included in the national broadcast schedule, and it is unlikely that they will open the season with a back-to-back slate.

Last season, the Kings finished with a 31-41 record. The Blazers finished the year with 42-30 regular season record. Against Denver, Portland was eliminated in six games in the opening round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs.

The rest of the NBA schedule is expected to trickle out in the near future. The 2021-22 season serves as coach Chauncey Billups’ debut with the Blazers. This upcoming season is also the first for the Blazers in their new broadcast agreement with ROOT Sports.
