Knicks center Nerlens Noel is expected to field several offers as free agency opens in the week ahead. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, four teams have emerged as suitors for the 27-year-old big man. The Raptors, Knicks, Pistons and Kings are the rumored quartet in Scotto’s story.
Of the four teams mentioned, three are projected to have useful cap space at the outset of free agency. The Pistons, after trading Mason Plumlee on draft night, have cap flexibility and an opening at center. The Raptors face an interesting decision with center Aron Baynes this summer. Baynes’ salary for next season is not guaranteed.
Noel averaged 5.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game in the 2020-21 season. He entered the league as the No. 6 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
