A number of candidates were in the running for the Magic position, made vacant by Steve Clifford last month. Mosley has spent the past seven years as Assistant to Rick Carlisle in Dallas where he formed a close relationship with All Star Luka Doncic.
Mosely’s role with the Mavericks over the past seven years has notably included his close connection and impactful work with All-NBA guard Luka Doncic. After Mosley replaced a quarantined Carlisle for a Mavericks victory in Madison Square Garden, Doncic told reporters of Mosley, “He’s got the things needed for a head coach.”
Former Portland Trail Blazers Coach Terry Stotts was also in the running for the Magic job, according to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer.
It’s believed the Magic are looking for a candidate with previous head coaching experience, and Terry Stotts could also be a strong option for Orlando, sources said.
