After a busy weekend, Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard and the rest of Team USA’s basketball squad know the path ahead of them at the Tokyo Olympics. With Olympic qualifying completed, the field is set and Team USA landed neatly in Group A. Along with Team USA, France, Czech Republic and Iran are also in the opening group.
Lillard is set to cross paths with former teammate Nic Batum in the group stage. For Iran, this is the third time they have qualified for the men’s basketball competition—the first time since 2008. Following a sequence of late-game heroics, Bulls guard Tomas Satoransky pulled the Czech Republic squad into the competition (ousting Canada in the process).
Here is a look at the rest of the groups:
Group A: United States | France | Czech Republic | Iran
Group B: Australia | Nigeria | Italy | Germany
Group C: Argentina | Japan | Spain | Slovenia
The group stage is set to begin on July 25.
