The Lakers have interviewed former Wizards coach Scott Brooks for a potential spot on Frank Vogel’s staff, league sources say.

Brooks parted ways with the Wizards after Washington was eliminated from the 2021 postseason. With the Wizards, Brooks recorded a 183-207 regular season record over five seasons. Prior to that, Brooks served as the Thunder’s coach for seven seasons.

According to previous reports, the Lakers already added former Grizzlies and Knicks Head Coach David Fizdale to their staff. Los Angeles is in the process of replacing the vacancy that was created by assistant coach Jason Kidd’s departure to the Mavericks.

The Lakers finished the 2020-21 regular season with a 42-30 record and they were eliminated in the opening round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
