The Philadelphia 76ers are sending $2 million in cash considerations to the New Orleans Pelicans for the 53rd pick in tonight’s NBA Draft, reports Shams Charania of the Athletic. The move begins to establish pricing for buying picks ahead of the draft.

It is not unusual for the Portland Trail Blazers to buy their way into a draft; currently, the Blazers have no picks in tonight’s draft for the first time since 2016 after leveraging them in trades. Stay tuned to see if Neil Olshey makes a move to do so.
