Former Portland Trail Blazers Associate Head Coach Nate Tibbetts is headed to the Orlando Magic to join Head Coach Jamahl Mosley’s staff. According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, Tibbetts is set to accept a position on the Magic’s new coaching staff.

The Orlando Magic are expected to hire former Portland assistant Nate Tibbets to Jamahl Mosley’s coaching staff, according to league sources. Tibbetts also interviewed for a position under Luke Walton in Sacramento.

Tibbetts joined the Blazers’ coaching staff after Terry Stotts’ first season in Portland. For the next six seasons, Tibbetts operated as an assistant coach. For the final two years of his tenure with the Blazers, Tibbetts operated under the title of Associate Head Coach.

Fischer also revealed that Tibbetts interviewed for a similar position with the Kings.

In Orlando, Tibbetts will reunite with Mosley. Prior to taking the Magic’s open position, Mosley served as an assistant coach with the Mavericks. Both Tibbetts and Mosley were a part of the Cavaliers’ coaching staff for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.
