JaVale McGee and Keldon Johnson will replace Bradley Beal and Kevin Love on the Team USA Men’s Basketball Olympics squad, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Beal is leaving the national team having fallen under health and safety protocols. Love is withdrawing, citing not being at “peak performance”.

McGee is a 13-year veteran who played last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets. He averaged 7.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in 46 total appearances, shooting 51.1% from the floor and 20.8% from the three-point arc in 14.7 minutes per game.
Johnson, a small forward with the San Antonio Spurs, is on the other end of the career spectrum. Just 21, he averaged 12.8 points and 6.0 rebounds in 28.5 minutes per game, shooting 47.9% from the field and 33.1% from the arc over 69 games.
Team USA was scheduled to face Australia today in their fourth exhibition game but the match was cancelled for health and safety reasons. The team is 1-2 so far in pre-Olympics play.
