The Detroit Pistons have won the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery and will select first overall during the draft on July 29th. The Pistons were one of three teams with an equal 14% chance to grab the #1 pick, the highest odds in the drawing.
Here are the full results of the event:
1. Detroit Pistons
7. Golden State Warriors (via Minnesota Timberwolves)
8. Orlando Magic (via Chicago Bulls)
13. Indiana Pacers
14. Golden State Warriors
The Raptors were the high-climbers in the event. They had a 7.5% chance at the top pick by virtue of finishing with the 7th-worst record in the league. They rose to fourth. The Cleveland Cavaliers went from 5th to 3rd overall, inverting with the Orlando Magic.
The Portland Trail Blazers do not have a first-round pick in this year’s draft currently. They traded it to the Rockets to acquire forward Robert Covington last season.
