The Trail Blazers continued their coaching search by interviewing Spurs assistant Becky Hammon and Chauncey Billups on Tuesday. According to a report from NBC Sports Northwest’s Dwight Jaynes, the Blazers had both Hammon and Billups on the schedule for today.
League sources have confirmed that the Trail Blazers will be interviewing San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon and Los Angeles Clippers assistant Chauncey Billups today for their vacant head coaching job.
The report from Jaynes explained that both coaching candidates are also believed to be on the radar for the Celtics and Magic.
Hammon, who has been on the Spurs’ coaching staff since 2014, and Billups, a former NBA player and first-year lead assistant with the Clippers, are also believed to be scheduled for interviews for head-coaching jobs in Orlando and Boston.
Hammon joined Gregg Popovich’s staff in San Antonio prior to the start of the 2014-15 regular season.
Along with today’s meetings, the Blazers interviewed Nets assistant Mike D’Antoni on Monday.
