The Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat have dominated the 2021 NBA All-Defensive Teams.

Three 76ers won places including Ben Simmons, who made the First Team as runner up to eventual Defensive Player of the Year Utah Jazz’ Rudy Gobert. Philadelphia teammates Joel Embiid and Matisse Thybulle also made the Second Team.

Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday both earned First Team selections while the Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo scored Second Team selections.

Gobert and Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors) made up the last two First Team spots while Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard rounded out the Second Team.

Portland Trail Blazers forward Robert Covington missed out on selection, however earned one Second-Team vote, on par with players including Donovan Mitchell (Jazz), Russell Westbrook (Washington Wizards), Andrew Wiggins (Warriors) and Jae Crowder (Phoenix Suns).

Given the Blazers’ disappointing defensive season, no other Portland players figured in voting.
