The Portland Trail Blazers’ week started with a startling Tornado evacuation in Atlanta. In the early Monday hours, a tornado touched down west of downtown Atlanta, forcing the Trail Blazers to head for the approved shelter in their current hotel.

The Blazers’ social media account shared a handful of pictures from the evacuation shortly after the events unfolded.

A tornado warning has been issued and it runs through 1:00 p.m. PT.

The Blazers are scheduled to face the Hawks in their fifth game of a six-game road trip on Monday. Coach Terry Stotts’ squad has reeled off four victories to start this late-season journey.

Tonight’s game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. PT.
