While the Portland Trail Blazers dropped Game 2 of their first-round series in the NBA playoffs to the Denver Nuggets 128-109, Damian Lillard marked quite the feat in the first half of the game, dropping eight 3-pointers, which tied Vince Carter’s playoff record, set in 2001. On ESPN’s The Jump, Carter had this to say about the achievement:

“When you’re in a zone, particularly from three, and I wasn’t shooting from the distance that Dame was shooting in that game. It was a great moment. I needed it. That’s what I needed to do for my team. So, um, I know what Dame was going through that night, just unbelievable. How do you guard a logo three? I don’t know how.”

According to the Jump, Aaron Gordon asked to guard Lillard following halftime; Lillard only scored 10 points during the second half compared to the first. That said, Lillard still managed 42 points on the night.
