The CDC updated mask guidance for vaccinated individuals earlier this week and it appears that the NBA is in discussion with the NBPA (National Basketball Players Association) to follow suit.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania provided an update regarding the discussions between the NBA and NBPA on Friday.

Sources: The NBA and NBPA are discussing modifications to the health and safety protocols in light of CDC guidance that fully-vaccinated individuals do not need to wear a facemask or physically distance except in certain settings. In meantime, current protocols remain in place.

In March, a large portion of the players on the Trail Blazers’ roster started the vaccination process.
