McMillan took over the Hawks’ head coaching position after Lloyd Pierce was removed from his post at the front of the bench earlier in the 2020-21 season.
Of McMillan’s 673 victories, 266 wins occurred during his time with the Blazers (the most of any of his stops). The former Sonics player and coach spent seven seasons in Portland. Prior to his time with the Hawks, McMillan served as the Pacers’ head coach.
The Hawks currently sit at No. 4 in the Eastern Conference standings with a 26-24 overall record.
