After competing in the MVP race this season, the recent slump has had an impact on how media are talking about the Portland Trail Blazers’ All-Star point guard, Damian Lillard. Lillard has struggled and missed time in the last few weeks due to a hamstring injury. Zach Harper of the Athletic pegs Lillard as second team All-NBA due to the Trail Blazers’ slide.
Lillard felt like a lock for top five in MVP voting a month ago. Since then, he’s missed time, and Portland slipped up a bit. Still, his numbers throughout the season have separated him from most of the elite guards, and we’ve seen his continued clutch performances on a nightly basis. Maybe he still has a shot at First Team, but it would take a massive run by Portland to finish out this season.
He selects Chris Paul alongside Lillard at the guard slot.
