The Trail Blazers suffered their fifth loss in six games on Wednesday after the Nuggets managed to hang on to a 106-105 victory. Despite having a double-digit lead at one point, Portland’s offense and defense lost steam in the final moments of the game.

After Wednesday’s result, NBC Sports Northwest’s Jamie Hudson highlighted Damian Lillard’s comments on the Blazers’ fluctuating intensity.

“We build a 10-point lead or an eight-point lead and then we feel like we got room, and we just relax, and you can see it and you can feel it sometimes,” Lillard added.

“That urgency and that focus it can’t waver. When it’s up and down and you playing against good teams, they’ll make you pay for it. They’ll get themselves back in the game, like tonight.”

In his return to action, Lillard logged 37 minutes and recorded 22 points on 23 attempts from the field. Lillard and the Blazers return to action on Friday in a matchup against the Grizzlies.
