The Blazers have signed the defensive wing to a second 10-day contract.

The Portland Trail Blazers have signed Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to a second 10-day contract, the team announced earlier today. Coach Terry Stotts also announced that Hollis-Jefferson will start against the Charlotte Hornets.

PORTLAND, Ore. (April 18, 2021) – The Portland Trail Blazers have signed forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to a second 10-day contract, it was announced today by president of basketball operations Neil Olshey.

Hollis-Jefferson, 26, has appeared in two games for the Trail Blazers, averaging 2.0 points, 0.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 6.0 minutes.

Portland first signed Hollis-Jefferson to a 10-day contract on April 8.

Over his career, Hollis-Jefferson has averaged 9.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.9 steals following stints with the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors.

A team can sign a player to two 10-day contracts in one season. After the second 10-day contract, the team can only retain the player by signing him for the remainder of the season.

The Blazers can choose to sign Hollis-Jefferson for the rest of the season at the end of the month.
