Damian Lillard has made a big name for himself in the NBA, but he’s also leaving a legacy behind that is more than just basketball. In 2012-2013, when Lillard was a rookie, he launched the RESPECT program that now partners with three Portland area high schools, encouraging students to show up, work hard and be kind.
Recently, Oakley announced a partnership with Damian Lillard, and as part of that partnership they will be donating $140,000 to Lillard’s RESPECT program. Lillard was pictured wearing Oakley’s newly re-released X Metal Romeo and Juliet frames prior to the Golden State Warriors game earlier this week. The iconic 90s frames were a favorite of basketball legend Scottie Pippen, and each of the 14 limited edition pairs that are part of this re-release will be signed by Pippen. The sunglasses are priced at $14,000 a pair and they will be available for purchase on Oakley.com.
“Hit my line, I be coming through in the clutch like, 23 in his prime and they couldn't touch Mike.”
