After dealing with a fractured wrist and a calf strain, Portland Trail Blazers starting center Jusuf Nurkic is set to make his return against the Orlando Magic on Friday evening. While the news was originally reported by Dwight Jaynes of NBC Sports Northwest, the news was quickly confirmed by the Bosnian Beast himself.
Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkić will make his return to the lineup on Friday vs. Orlando. He's back from a right wrist fractured. Sources tell : Jusuf Nurkić— Jusuf Nurkić (@bosnianbeast27) March 25, 2021
The presence of Nurkic has been sorely missed in his absence. Nurkic injured his wrist in a matchup against the Indianapolis Pacers on January 14th, 2021. Prior to the injury, he had only played eight games in the 2020-21 season. He was averaging 10.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Nurkic was originally expected to miss eight weeks with the wrist fracture; however, he sustained a calf strain during his recovery, which impeded his return to the court.
Rip City has certainly missed seeing the Bosnian Beast on the court, and we look forward to seeing him work against the Magic.
