The Portland Trail Blazers have traded Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Norman “Norm” Powell ahead of the NBA trade deadline, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Powell has been with the Raptors since they traded for him on draft night after he was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 46th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft. Powell joined the Raptors’ starting lineup in the 2020-21 season. Currently, he is averaging 19.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. In a game against the Detroit Pistons on March 17th, Powell notched a career-high 43 points.
Meanwhile, Trent Jr. has averaged 15 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in the 2020-21 season for the Portland Trail Blazers, and Hood has averaged 4.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. Trent Jr. is a restricted free agent this summer, while Hood is on a two-year contract.
