Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons and forward Nassir Little will not suit up against the Brooklyn Nets tonight because of health and safety protocols. As of this point, there are no conclusive reports indicating the extent of the issue. The Blazers have simply indicated that they will not play this evening.
Danny Marang tweeted the news.
Updated Blazers Injury Report:
— Danny Marang (@DannyMarang) March 24, 2021
Portland G Anfernee Simons (health & safety protocol), Nassir Little (health & safety protocol)
C Jusuf Nurkic (right calf strain) and F/C Zach Collins (left ankle stress fracture) are out for Tuesday’s game vs. Brooklyn.
Because there’s already been chatter on social media, I’ll editorialize and point out that if the Blazers were holding out either player in advance of an NBA Trade Deadline Week deal, they absolutely would NOT list health and safety protocols as the issue.
Simons has averaged 8.0 points in 16.6 minutes per game in 36 appearances for the Blazers so far this season. Little has averaged 5.3 points in 13.6 minutes over 27 games. Both come off the bench for the Blazers.
Portland is also missing center Jusuf Nurkic and forward Zach Collins.
