Another game, another record for Portland Trail Blazers’ forward Carmelo Anthony: 27,000 career points. He is the 11th player in NBA history to mark that achievement.

Anthony is no. 11 on the NBA’s All-Time Scoring list, and it is expected that he will get into the top ten this season. If he continues to score at the clip he has been, Anthony will pass Elvin Hayes for the tenth slot on the list in late April. Anthony passed Hakeem Olajuwon during a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on March 13th.
In the victory against the Mavericks, Anthony came off the bench for 18 points and four rebounds and shooting 60% from outside. This season, Anthony has been averaging 14.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
Alongside Anthony’s accomplishment, the win marked Coach Terry Stotts’ 500th career win. In the locker room, Stotts asked Anthony to make a speech, but Anthony declined in order to honor his coach instead.
