The Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard has announced that he will not be participating in the NBA All-Star 3-Point contest, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports. Lillard attributed the decision to needing to rest. Had Lillard competed, it would have been his third time participating in the contest.

The 3-point contest is slated to be contested prior to the All-Star Game on Sunday, along with the Skills Challenge. The Slam Dunk contest will be held during halftime. Robert Covington is set to participate in the Skills Challenge, while Anfernee Simons will get his chance to highlight his hops in the Dunk Contest.
