Examining the Blazers Prospects During the Second Half of the Season

Portland finished the first half of the year as well as could be expected. Will it hold up?

NBA: All Star Game-Dunk Contest Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Portland Trail Blazers podcast are a dozen for a dime nowadays, but nobody out-entertains Dave and Dia! This week Dave Deckard and Dia Miller rejoice over Anfernee Simons winning the 2021 NBA All-Star Game Slam Dunk Contest (while putting that achievement in perspective), review the first half of the season, talk about the second half schedule, and point out the most important factors if the Blazers want to become more than they already are. (Hint: It starts with “Jusuf” and ends with “Nurkic”.) The duo also talk NBA trade deadline, the players they’d most like to see stay or go, Dia’s “Whiteside Line”, and the prospects for Portland to improve either in the next two weeks or this summer. Finally, and most importantly, they welcome a special guest to challenge Danny Marang’s prediction of 18 wins over the final 37 games of the season. Our guest expert thinks she has a much better line on Portland’s win total than our in-house guru does, and there’s way more than just honor at stake!
