Portland Trail Blazers’ point guard Damian Lillard is currently third in All-Star fan voting for the Western Conference, reports Sham Charania of the Athletic. He is behind Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. CJ McCollum came in at number 8, while Carmelo Anthony garnered enough votes to break the frontcourt’s top ten. Lillard needs approximatley 400,000 fan votes to overtake Doncic. According to Charania, fan voting is up 70% over the previous year.

Charania also reports that the league and the players’ association have agreed on a date and location for the All-Star game in March. The game will be contested on March 7th in Atlanta.
The league and the players’ association have been in talks for a while to establish what a coronavirus-impacted All-Star Weekend might look like. The remainder of the plan is still be worked out, but it will likely include some form of the dunk contest and 3-point contest.
