The second half of the 2020-21 regular season schedule is here and pundits have already circled the Trail Blazers versus the Mavericks as a must-watch game. More specifically, CBS Sports contributor Jack Maloney highlighted a potential high-scoring duel between Damian Lillard and Luka Doncic as programming worth tuning in for.

Maloney set the stage for the matchup between stars on March 19 with the following explanation:

There was a little bit of drama surrounding the announcement of the All-Star Game starters, with Luka Doncic earning the nod over Damian Lillard by a tiebreaker. They’ve handled it gracefully, but it should still be interesting to see their first head-to-head matchup after the event. And even if there isn’t any added drama, it’s always fun watching those two stars do their thing.

That matchup on March 19 is the first game of a back-to-back set between the Blazers and Mavericks. Earlier this month, the Blazers secured an exciting 121-118 victory over the Mavericks. In that matchup, Lillard recorded 34 points and Doncic notched 44 of his own.
