The Portland Trail Blazers’ City Edition uniform, dubbed the Spirit of Oregon, will make its debut in the matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers, according to the team’s Twitter. The uniform, with its unique coloring and striping, is meant to recognize the special beauty of the state of Oregon while honoring the Native peoples of the state.

The jersey is a dark brown laid over with topographic lines, featuring a chest logo meant to be reminiscent of the Portland, Oregon sign in Old Town (formerly the White Stag sign). The side striping is suggestive of the mountain peaks that bisect the state, and the earth tones used in the uniform echo that suggestion. A patch on the matching shorts is Oregon-shaped and meant to honor the Native peoples for whom Oregon is home.

Net proceeds from the sale of the jersey go to the Native American Youth and Family Center, a non-profit organization in Portland that supports Native families.
