Former Trail Blazers wing Mario Hezonja appears to be headed overseas to join CSKA Moscow. According to Euro Hoops journalist Josh Halickman, Hezonja is close to a new deal after going unsigned after his trade to the Grizzlies in the 2020 NBA offseason.

Hezonja, the No. 5 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, appeared in 53 regular season games (four starts) during his one-year stint in Portland. In those outings, he averaged 4.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
In November, Hezonja was part of a three-team trade that sent center Enes Kanter back to the Blazers. As part of that deal, Hezonja landed with the Grizzlies. He was waived by Memphis on Dec. 11.
If the rumors are true, Hezonja will join NBA veterans Mike James and Joel Bolomboy on CSKA Moscow’s roster.
