During the game against the Golden State Warriors, the Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard marked a notable milestone, passing the 15,000 point threshold, though he is still 3,027 points away from passing the franchise’s current all-time scoring leader, Clyde Drexler. Chris Burkhardt of NBC Sports Northwest reports that Lillard is resolved to pass Drexler.
“I dunno when, but I’m gonna pass him. I gotta continue to take care of myself and continue to work on my game and just be myself and stay healthy. It is a goal. I want to get to that point and even go past that.”
Lillard is focused on improving his game so he can add to his accomplishments.
“If I focus on continuing to improve and continuing to win and try to bring what I want to bring to this city and this organization, I know that is gonna come along with a lot of other things. I wouldn’t say I focus on it but it’s definitely something that I’m aware of and something that I want on my belt. I’ll continue to be me and continue to work towards all the things that I want to accomplish as a Trail Blazer and it will come.”
Lillard had 34 points in the win over Golden State.
