The Portland Trail Blazers’ Carmelo Anthony marked an important milestone in the victory over Golden State when he passed Tim Duncan on the NBA’s All-Time Scoring List. Anthony now has 26,499 points over the course of his career. Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports on what Anthony had to say about the achievement.
For me to surpass Tim Duncan, who we all know how great of a player he was and what he did for this game, I’m still going. I’m still enjoying it.
Head Coach Terry Stotts was happy about the honor.
It’s extraordinary. I’ve been fortunate to be around some Hall of Fame players and when a guy like that passes a player like Tim Duncan, it’s elite company… You have to savor those moments. It’s easy to kind of overlook it… To be 14th all-time is Hall of Fame stuff.
Anthony had 18 points in the win against Golden State.
