Memphis Grizzlies point guard sensation Ja Morant has been announced as the NBA’s Rookie of the Year for the 2019-20 season.

After being drafted second in last year’s NBA draft, Morant was central to the Grizzlies’ run to the ninth seed in the Western Conference, which resulted in a play-in game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Originally drafted out of Murray State University, Morant recorded averages of 17.8 points, 7.3 assists, 3.9 rebounds and .9 steals this season.
