NBA commissioner Adam Silver hinted at a January start for the 2020-21 season in a conversation with CNN.

The targeted start date for the NBA’s 2020-21 season remained undefined after recent comments from commissioner Adam Silver. Highlighted by The New York Times NBA Insider Marc Stein, Silver revealed that the league could be looking at a return to action at some point in January of 2021.

It appears that the report from earlier this month, that suggested a start date might fall around Christmas Day, has shifted.

Outside of the start of next season, the 2020 NBA Draft is scheduled to take place on November 18.
