Russell Westbrook, in his first postseason with the Rockets, made it a round further in the postseason this year. Despite that team success, as an individual, Westbrook encountered a similar result as the Rockets’ season came to a conclusion.
According to ESPN’s Marc Spears, William Rondo, Rajon’s brother, went to Damian Lillard’s playbook after a heated exchange with the former NBA MVP.
Lakers guard Rajon Rondo says his brother, William, called Russell Westbrook “trash” and nothing more and gave him the “Damian Lillard” wave when the Rockets star asked what he said. Rondo said his bother didn’t say anything more and he is hopeful there will be no discipline.— Marc J. Spears (@MarcJSpears) September 13, 2020
In five outings against the Lakers, Westbrook averaged 19.8 points per game and shot 40.7 percent from the field. Westbrook is under contract through the the 2022-23 season (the final year is a player option) and is set to earn $41.3 million next season based on the current cap forecast.
