Recap: Lakers Take Series 4-1 Over Blazers With Game 5 Win

Portland’s hard-fought playoff run comes to an end.

The Portland Trail Blazers’ stay at the Disney World bubble came to end on Saturday as Portland dropped Game 5 to the Lakers by a score of 131-122 and lost the series 4-1. CJ McCollum led the team with 36 points, followed by 27 points from Carmelo Anthony.

No Lillard Time. Portland was without injured star Damian Lillard as he recovers from what’s been diagnosed as a sprained right knee. The Blazers never let the Lakers stray too far in the fourth quarter until the very end, but they could’ve used Lillard’s crunch-time abilities.

Stay Melo (?) Carmelo Anthony has enjoyed a career resurgence in Portland, yet there’s uncertainty as to whether the 10-time All-Star just played his last game with the Blazers. If Melo does move on, he leaves behind a highlight reel of clutch shots from just one season as a Blazer.
